TrustedSite offers a set of security certifications your site can earn and then display through trust badges. These badges help merchants increase conversions anywhere from 3% - 30% (depending on industry and other factors) and works really well for Shopify Plus brands that can add the badge.
When the tool is installed, they do an on-site and off-site audit for phishing, malicious links, malware, Google Blacklist, and other errors that would make the site dangerous. If the site comes back clean, the trust badge will display automatically. Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
Their strength isn’t in their badge, which is what technically increases conversion rate, but it’s in the back-office work they are doing to ensure the badge should be displayed.
One of the coolest things I like is their Issue Free Order (sub)badge. TrustedSite sends an email to every order/customer, post-purchase (and post-arrival of the product) and asks “Did you have any issues with this order?” If you maintain a 95% or higher issue free response, you can display the badge.
They also offer Shopper Identity Protection for Pro users, which insures the end-customer up to $100,000 against any sort of Shopper fraud or mis-use of their information. The user has to opt-in post-purchase using a modal or slide-in, and if they do, they get 90 days free identity protection. That protection is available regardless of where your information is compromised - as long as you opt-in, you are protected.
Trust is one of the most important factors when it comes to getting a customer to convert. This relatively simple-looking badge can actually increase the trust with the customer, which in turn increases your conversion rate.
Another good to have “metric” for you is the safety this tool provides merchants by constantly scanning your site, checking for serious security issues, and then reporting them back to you. If you can sleep easier at night because this tool is installed, that is a big win.
Installing the tool into your Shopify store takes a few seconds and will initiate the first scan of your store. Once your store is approved, the floating trust mark will automatically display in the bottom right corner of the site. If you want to add the badge to the product detail pages, homepage, footer, or at checkout (if on Shopify Plus), you can easily go into their backend and get the code snippet to add in.
For pro users, you do have a little bit of conversion tracking code that has to be manually placed in the liquid theme in order for it to work. They have in-house specialists that can do this for you, or you can do it yourself.
From there you may go into your backend to choose various placement options, review any security issues that have been detected, or alter other settings, certificates, and placements. But mostly, this is a set and forget tool that works to increase conversion rate on your site without costing you much in the way of resources.
The tool is free to install and will work for your first 500 visits per month for free. Once that is exceeded, it will disappear and reappear at the beginning of the next month, unless you upgrade to a pro plan.
That said, this tool is incredibly powerful for Plus merchants, who can take advantage of using the badge on the checkout, and even on the payment page, which is proven to increase conversion rate.
