All about
Opinew is a smart review platform for Direct to Consumer brands looking to pull all of their reviews from across the web (Amazon, Ebay, etc.) and showcase them on their site for increased social proof and conversion rate.
Their review widget displays social proof on the product detail page, collection page, and anywhere else across the site you’d like to display social proof. Opinew’s “Smart Review” process - which uses over 20 data points - helps ensure that the right reviews are showing up to help the next customer convert. They’ve even found that their review widget reduces returns by up to 20%, because customers are more likely to buy what they want after reading their auto-optimized reviews.
They also allow your users to ask questions on the product detail pages, and they will display questions and answers below the review widget.
They have a Chrome Extension that makes it super easy to import your Amazon, Ebay, AliExpress, or Oberlo reviews, either one by one, or in bulk. It’s honestly just a few clicks.
Rest assured that they are not going to slow down your site and they work hard to load very fast and optimize their product to be very small in terms of kilobytes (kb).
What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
Opinew is making it easier and more affordable to get quality photo and video reviews at scale, bringing a lot of the traditionally enterprise review functionality down to the smaller brands.
I love that when users are clicking through from their review email or SMS, Opinew automatically “knows” the user email and name and auto-input it to start the review process. This will even work if you send those review emails and SMS’s through Klaviyo or Omnisend.
Their integration with Klaviyo and Omnisend is quite robust, allowing you to pull in product reviews directly into your emails to publish them.
They even have a way for you to incorporate review requests into your packaging slip, so that when the package arrives, the user is getting prompted to share right away.
They’re load speed is also insanely fast, which can be quite impactful for conversion rate.
Opinew increases conversion rate by providing social proof on your site. By doing this, they’ve also found they can decrease returns (by up to 20%) and increase lifetime value. Other metrics you care about when looking at review platforms are your review rate (percentage of customers reviewing you).
Typically a review tool will be set up by your marketing manager, head of marketing, or head of eCommerce. You don’t typically need a developer to get up and launched, but if you want to do custom design, CSS, or other adjustments to your widgets, you may bring them in for a few hours of work.
On the backend, importing reviews is only a few clicks. Then you need to set up your review request flow - either in Opinew’s platform or your email service provider (Klaviyo and Omnisend are only supported right now).
Once the review request process is squared away, you can now launch the platform, start collecting reviews, and displaying them across your site to increase social proof and conversion.
From there you may log in weekly to review your reviews, understand why there was a negative review and what to do with it. You can grab reviews to put on social media, etc.
Opinew is perfect for direct to consumer brands also selling on Amazon and Ebay. The value of a good product review is high, so ensuring you can utilize that review across your different selling platforms is huge.
