All about
Shop2App is a hyper-focused mobile app builder for subscription brands who are looking to improve customer loyalty and retention.
When a user downloads the app, they start with a brief onboarding sequence, which the brand creates, and then they are moved into a unique homepage experience that the brand builds out. This can be similar to your existing homepage, but it will be at least a little different, and is catered towards existing customers.
Users can easily manage their subscriptions from the backend of the app, skip a month, add a product, or unsubscribe, with the custom ReCharge flow built in, and then go to checkout. Checkout itself is still native web, meaning they get taken to a webpage to finalize that checkout process.
The user only has to go through the checkout process once, and then their information is remembered for all future transactions. So while we are going to native web (which is sort of forced by ReCharge and Shopify) it’s still a very seamless experience.
They have a deep integration with Smile.io for encouraging usage of your loyalty program and loyalty points, including through push notifications.
Their push notifications options include:
- Welcome Offer
- Abandoned Cart, Browse Abandonment
- Post-Purchase Upsell, Follow Up Offers
- Blog Post Education / Engagement
- Custom Flows
What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
Shop2App has built their entire experience around the subscription user, making their lives much easier. And honestly, they have built out their loyalty components nicely to increase retention of those subscription users.
Also, through their Zapiet integration, they also have built unique checkout functionality for local merchants that require local pickup options from store selection and time selection.
Shop2App is built to increase subscription retention, as well as increase overall loyalty, and use of your loyalty program. And from there, naturally lifetime value is going to go up.
Secondarily, you may see your referral rate (number of customers referred by existing customers) go up.
Shop2App can be set up without a developer, but sometimes you may bring one in for some custom dev work, custom integrations, etc. Ideally, you’ve got the right apps in your stack that integrate directly with them, and you can avoid that.
It will take 1 - 5 hours to set up the app depending on how many different apps you need to integrate, how many custom creatives you may need for things such as the homepage banners, and changing around the layout, loyalty integration, subscription integration options, etc.
From there it will take a few days to 2 weeks to get approved in the Google/Apple stores and have your mobile app available for download by your customers.
Shop2App is built specifically for ReCharge subscription brands using Smile for loyalty (they will integrate with other loyalty tools in the future).
Alternatively, they are great for local, possibly multi-store businesses, that are looking for increasing online orders with in-store pickups from their loyal neighborhood customers.
In either case, you need to be a merchant that cares a lot about the retention of your customers, and the higher your existing retention, the stronger a mobile app builder will work for you.
