All about
Prehook is a quiz platform for Shopify merchants looking to gather customer data and increase leads and sales. First-party data is more valuable than ever before, with recent cookie and data restrictions hitting multiple platforms and regions.
Now, gathering data (through the quiz) is only the first part, the money is made when you take action on that data through personalization on-site (typically right at the end of the quiz), in email, SMS, or on other channels or ad platforms.
They have multiple data points for adding layers of conditional logic, so that as the customer answers questions, they can be taken down different paths (men can go down the men’s path, women down the women’s). And you can take previous quiz answers to use in subsequent questions.
What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
Prehook is hyper-focused on increasing conversion rate through their quiz. They aren’t trying to be the email, SMS, or Messenger provider on top of the quiz, they simply connect with those providers, which keeps their costs and benefits low and focused on what you need.
Prehook can also be used for product/market research to understand customer profiles, shapes, preferences, and then go source the products according to those insights.
Prehook increases lead collection through asking for an email address at the end of the quiz (which is optional of course). And they increase sales and conversion rate by improved product recommendations and product discovery through their quiz platform.
Typically your head of marketing, head of eCommerce, or you as the founder/store owner will create the quiz itself, connect it with the appropriate integrations (typically your email and SMS providers) and launch it to the site. From there this person would want to create flows and sequences in their partner tools that fire based on events or custom data points. You even have the opportunity to tie in the product recommendations from the quiz back into something like an abandoned store or abandoned cart email.
Quiz tools are a phenomenal way to engage your website visitors while collecting more data on them.
Prehook is better for merchants with multiple SKUs and multiple SKU categories. Typically a one product store doesn’t need to get quiz data from the customer, since they will recommend that one product regardless of the quiz answers.
Prehook is better for merchants that have a sort of complex or murky purchasing process, such as different personal styles, body shapes, dimensions, etc.
